First Post

According to the Center for Service and Learning’s latest statistical report, 22,184 BYU students volunteered 121,957 hours of service during 2011. That service continues through spring and summer terms, giving students a variety of opportunities from helping individuals with cognitive or physical disabilities to contributing to humanitarian efforts. Read more in The Universe.


Engineering Ph.D. student Shannon Zirbel has some ideas for how to improve the design of robotic spacecraft, and NASA likes what they've seen so far from her. Zirbel has earned a NASA Space Technology Research Fellowship, an academic award worth up to $198,000 that is propelling her research straight to the cosmos.Read more.
